Our current goals are to take in as many equine, based on our number of open spaces, who require special attention, who must be surrendered and those that have been abused. In addition, evaluate each equine to see if adoptable, or able to be utilized in programs to assist developmentally disabled individuals, veterans, and local community-based support groups.
Our present strategies are to maintain and achieve our current and future goals and accomplishments by continueing to maintain an active role and partnership with our local community agencies, working side by side with our local community mental health department and local Veterans' office. As well as maintaining our continuous involvement with being an active member of our local West Branch Chamber of Commerce. By participating with the other member organizations to help individuals who have special needs, learn about and participate in our equine based programs.
Our present long term goal is to become a certified facility in EAAT Programs (Equine Assisted Activities & Therapies), by becoming a certified PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) Facility and to have a certified PATH instructor on-site.
Based on our highly proficient and dedicated volunteers, our experienced horsemanship of our individuals, and with our newly built 13,000 square foot equine facility, D&R ACRES HOBBY AND RESCUE FARM has the ability and know how to maintain and continue to grow and provide exceptional equine programs to and for our community desires.
